Project description
Ecotech was commissioned to design and build state-of-the-art facility for a new highway truck park development on the highway of the city of Tororo, Uganda. The proposed truck stop is capable of accommodating 150 large trucks with the aim of providing a venue for parking trucks in a safe manner before the onset of the trucks prohibited movement timing.
The initial concept is to provide facilities include various appurtenances and services that meet the needs of heavy vehicle drivers, where drivers could rest in a safe, secure and clean environment such as spacious restaurant offering healthy prepared food, clean showers, hotel rooms, service station, prayer room, medical clinic, shops and a truck wash bay coupled with ultra-maintenance workshops.
The truck parking area will be surfaced with high quality setts and defined with high quality landscape proposals. The security of the truck park is one of the main factors that are influencing the construction of these types of facilities. The single access road into the site is via security barriers ensuring the site will be secure 24hrs a day.
