Project description
This Cafe’ Shires service station is situated at Malaba road few kilometres away from the border of Kenya and Uganda, the service station is a marriage of the city’s historic love affair with the automobile and today’s modern one-stop shopping spirit of immediate gratification and convenience.
Ecotech architects were commissioned to design modern service station and the design of a service station is a strong reference to the idea of travel, short or long-distance routes interrupted only by a few stops and then back on the road. A break for refuelling, or just to stretch a bit ‘legs before continuing your journey.
The daring and active design seeks to resuscitate a streetscape through the integration of a 6-pump gas station, mini-market and car wash. The new restaurant is inspired by the concept with a large central counter of emperor marble at the heart of the new design. The charismatic new restaurant offers an intimate atmosphere to rival anything the town has to offer.
Ecotech is proud to support the Shires service station project. Our multidisciplinary project team has enjoyed providing excellent design insight including project management, services engineering, civil/structural engineering, as well as an energy efficiency assessment.
